A Fond Farewell

Farewell Lunch

Last week the committee had a farewell and thank you lunch for two of our valuable helpers, Julie Thwaites and Sheila Hammond.

Sheila, Julie and Anne

Sheila Hammond has served on the committee for almost 4 years with her main role being ‘minute taker'. She has of course done much more than that for A.D.D.E.R. such as helping at various events, raising money and of course the ever important awareness raising. Sheila has been a truly valuable member of the committee and will be much missed. We wish her good health and good fortune as she moves further down the country to be closer to her family.

Julie Thwaites has been an active friend of A.D.D.E.R. for many years. She has attended the dystonia clinic now at Walkergate Park and previously at Hunters Moor offering drinks and someone to chat to in the waiting room. She has made such a difference to many people waiting to see the specialist and not really knowing what was going to happen or sometimes not knowing much about dystonia at all. I was one of those people once and her friendly advice and lovely manner made me feel at ease. Julie has decided to retire and we wish her very good health and good fortune in her retirement, thank you for all your hard work Julie.
